Spouse KITAS E31A (1 to 2 Years)

The Spouse-Sponsored KITAS (Index E31A) is a 1-year renewable residency permit designed for foreign nationals legally married to Indonesian citizens (WNI). It provides long-term family residency security, multiple-entry freedom, and an established statutory pathway toward permanent residency (KITAP) after two consecutive years of marriage.

Governed by the Indonesian Marriage Law (UU No. 1/1974) and Immigration Law, the application requires official civil registration documents—including the Indonesian Marriage Certificate (Buku Nikah or Akta Perkawinan from Catatan Sipil), the spouse's Family Card (Kartu Keluarga), KTP, and certified proof of financial solvency. While holding an E31A KITAS, foreign spouses are permitted by law to engage in informal work or freelance family ventures to support household livelihood without a work permit.
